UPAYA GURU PAI DALAM MENGEMBANGKAN EMOTIONAL QUOTIENT (EQ) PADA PESERTA DIDIK DI SEKOLAH DASAR NEGERI 153 PEKANBARU

Abstract

Emotional intelligence (EQ) is a person's ability to recognize the emotions that arise within themselves and others, caused by various factors. This ability allows them to control these emotions and maintain a motivated state.
This study aims to determine the extent to which Islamic Religious Education (PAI) teachers are developing Emotional Quotient (EQ) in students at State Elementary School 153 Pekanbaru. It also aims to identify the supporting and inhibiting factors in the development of EQ in students at State Elementary School 153 Pekanbaru.
The research method used in this study is descriptive with a qualitative approach, with data collection using observation, interviews, and documentation.
The results of this study are that the efforts used by Islamic Religious Education teachers in developing Emotional Quotient (EQ) in students are: 1) developing children's empathy, 2) being a good role model for students, 3) using learning methods that develop Emotional Quotient (EQ) such as group methods and story methods, 4) providing routine activities that are able to develop Emotional Quotient (EQ) in students such as: literacy/numeracy, imtak, extracurricular and co-curricular activities.
